About Cavity Dental Staff

I have built up over 20 years a loyal workforce to ‘fill the gap’. Couple that with my personal experience as a Practice Manager and we aim to make practices staffing pains go away.

We look to build up long-term commercial relationships with Dental Practices. Looking to support not only when they are short on staff cover,  but also provide other services such as our jobs board and DBS checks, Free CPD and Health & Wellbeing Resources making Cavity the UK’s most trusted dental workforce partner.

I have been with Cavity since 2007.  I initially joined as a part time locum nurse… My role has completely transformed since then and I am now the Managing Director.  My main job is to support the boss and everyone else in Cavity!

In my spare time I enjoy socialising with my friends & family.  I enjoy travelling, eating out, going to football matches & drinks in country pubs.  I also enjoy keeping fit and taking long walks with my husband & daughter.

I started as a trainee nurse back in 2004 in general practice, I qualified in 2006 before making the leap into agency with Cavity later that same year.
I felt doing agency nursing would help expand my knowledge, which it certainly did.

Over the 7 years of full-time locum, I gained a mountain of experience in both private and NHS general practices, Max FAX Departments, Prison’s, learnt specialities such as ortho/implants/perio, various reception software packages and passed my radiography qualification After nursing I turned my hand to nurse management becoming an area manager with Cavity.

Over the years of management, I have looked after a team of 50+ nurses, before moving onto to heading the locum hygiene and dentist team.
Passing the level 5 Operations and Departmental Manger Qualification in 2020has honed my skills to manage and support a continuously growing business.

After 2x maternity leaves I came back to Cavity in a different role as Head of dental provision within their sister training company, which was a completely different environment and experience for me to get my teeth into.

Following the sale of that business last year I reintegrated back into the agency life that I know well and am now Operations Director for Cavity undertaking a wide range of roles.

Outside of work I am married to Ben, and we have 2 daughters aged 6 and 3 who keep me on my toes.
I would say I like to read, exercise, garden… however I am not one to lie so I confess my hobbies are Netflix, Disney+ and sleep… haha

I joined Cavity as a Locum Dental Nurse in 2017. Prior to joining Cavity, I worked as a Dental Nurse for 13 years for both Private and Corporate companies. I trained as an Implant Nurse however would of much preferred Orthodontic Nursing.

Whilst working for Cavity, I have had the time to study for a Degree in Counselling Theory & Practice and a CIPD Diploma in Human Resource Practice, two areas which I have always been extremely interested in studying.

I have been delighted to accept the Head of Safeguarding & Welfare (Designated Safeguarding Lead) role within the Cavity team and work towards creating an open and transparent culture around Health & Wellbeing within the company.

I have been a qualified dental nurse for 20 years, and I have been working with Cavity since 2015.  I started working with the Cavity booking team, and then moved to Admin Compliance in 2016, where I ensure all our new nurses are compliant and remain so while working with Cavity.  This role is great for me as I love to organise!  I have also manage our DBS service where we are able to complete application forms for our own nurses and offer this service to other dental practices who are looking to carry out checks on their own staff under our DBS umbrella company.

I qualified as a Dental Nurse around 1995.  As a Dental Nurse I worked in 2 mixed practices as well as working for the military as a civilian dental nurse for 3 years.  I gained my Radiography, OHE, and Practice Manager qualifications during this time.

I started working with Cavity Dental as a Locum Dental Nurse in January 2012 and soon moved into an Area Manager role.  I built up a strong area and a great team of locum dental nurses, some of which are still working with us today.

As Cavity has grown and adapted to the changing world of dentistry, my role has evolved alongside it. Over the years, this has included Fit testing staff during the Covid period. As well as supporting nurses who want a more flexible way of working, helping them adapt as attitudes to work-life balance continue to change.

As National Workforce Managers, Lizzy and I manage the diaries of more than 400 nurses across the country and respond to enquiries from people interested in joining our company.

Our day-to-day role involves managing communication platforms and keeping in regular contact with our nursing staff across the country. We support them with work-related queries and help resolve any issues that arise.

We are also responsible for guiding successful applicants through our national recruitment process. Once they join, we continue to support them as they begin their journey as Cavity Nurses.

Outside of work, I’m a keen golfer—though I wouldn’t claim to be great at it—and that’s where you’ll usually find me in my spare time. I also love chocolate, making Easter if my favourite time of year! and enjoy travelling and exploring new places.

I began my career in dental nursing in 2010, gaining experience in private practice, where I achieved my NEBDN qualification and specialised certifications in Sedation and Implants.

In 2014, I joined the Cavity team full-time as a nurse. Over the years, my role has evolved significantly taking me from full time nurse to Area Manager to Regional Manager, and now to National Workforce Manager, working alongside Lisa. I also completed the level 5 Operations and Departmental Manger Qualification in 2020 to build my skills to manage a growing team and support the business growth going forwards.

As a National Workforce Manager, we are the go-to people for all our locum nurse needs —from recruitment to daily logistics (including those last-minute car park directions!). I pride myself on combining practical experience with a solution-focused approach. One of the values I live by is treating others as I would like to be treated, while always being willing to say “yes” to new challenges and opportunities.

Alongside my full-time role at Cavity, I am continuing my AAT accountancy qualification and have chosen to pursue the full qualification past the initial Bookkeeping I planned for. Balancing my studies with my career is a challenge I enjoy, and I am aiming to complete my qualification by the end of 2026.

Outside of work, I live on a dairy farm in North Devon with my husband, Freddie, and our beloved Cocker Spaniel, GG. Who is playful and never far from one of our sides… unless a rabbit or pheasant are in the vicinity!

Looking to the future, once my studies are complete, I hope to get back in the saddle and fulfil my ambition of owning my own horse again, the best therapy is looking between two ears!

Our Head Office team consists of the Booking Team – Sarah, Holly, Megan and Oliver, Lauren in the Accounts Department and Marlena our Office Assistant.  Between them they are all in the office from 07.30am to 19.00pm each day.
