World Wellbeing Week (24-30 June)

22nd Jun 2026

World Wellbeing Week takes place annually in June, is a global awareness initiative focused on improving health and wellbeing in the workplace and wider society. It encourages organisations, teams, and individuals to pause, reflect, and take meaningful steps towards better wellbeing. It is the perfect time to look at the skills and tools you need to support your own overall wellbeing too:

Physical: Being active is a great way to boost your mood and raise your self-esteem. It is also an effective stress management technique. Whether you go for a walk, swim or cycle, do yoga or have a dance around the kitchen; all movement counts.

Mental: Mental wellbeing affects how we think, feel, and behave in daily life, it influences our emotional, psychological, and social output. People with a strong mental health are more likely to cope with managing stress, building and maintain relationships and make informed decisions.

Nutrition: Eating a healthy balanced diet is one of the simplest ways to improve not only your mental health but can support your emotional health too. Introducing small habits such as having more fruit and veg and eating at regular intervals helps to make changes stick easier

Hydration: Hydration is essential for maintaining bodily functions, supporting energy, cognition, and overall health. Some of the benefits of water include regulating body temperature, aids in digestion and boosts brain performance.

Sleep: Getting good quality sleep helps your brain work better, lifts your mood, and is good for your overall health. Get into a routine before bedtime, include reducing screentime at least an hour before bed and avoiding caffeine later in the day.

Mindfulness: Being in the present moment can change the way you feel about life and how you approach challenges. When did you last notice the colour of the sky or the sound of leaves. You could try journalling or meditation which can also help you become more mindful.

Connection: Having good relationships with people can help make you feel that you have a place to belong. It allows you to share experiences and receive emotional support. Friends are there when we need them the most, make time
to catch-up with a friend either in person or over the phone.

Cavity Dental Staff: Our Commitment to Mental Health & Wellbeing

At Cavity Dental Staff, we understand how vital mental health support is. That’s why, since launching our Health & Wellbeing Platform in 2019, we’ve made significant investments to build a supportive, proactive, and
compassionate culture across our team.

Support You Can Count On – Internally and Externally

We’re proud to offer a range of mental health resources and support systems,
including:

  • Five fully qualified Mental Health First Aiders, trained to offer a listening ear and practical support.
  • Access to Health Assured, a confidential 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, available to all employed dental nurses and administrative staff.
  • A dedicated Health & Wellbeing Slack channel – a safe digital space to share advice, ask questions, or just check in.
  • Flexible communication options for those who may not want to talk on the phone, including Slack messages, texts, emails, scheduled video or phone calls via Calendly.

We recognise that reaching out isn’t always easy. Talking about how you feel can feel daunting – especially when you're struggling to even find the words. That’s why we've created a safe and accessible environment to encourage
open conversations, in whatever format suits the individual best.

Introducing the Cavity Health & Wellbeing Support Hub

To make accessing help even easier, we’ve built the Cavity Health & Wellbeing Support Hub – an online archive of resources and guidance, tailored to the unique challenges our staff and wider community may face.
